It all comes down to the balance between wattage and surface area. If you push too much power into a small space, you’ll scorch the outside before the middle even gets warm. We spend a lot of time dialing in the voltage and the length of the quartz tubes. We want the energy to flow evenly. This way, you can hit your target temperature fast, then dial it back to keep things steady.

It pushes the heat toward your tableware instead of trapping it inside the lamp housing where it doesn’t do any good. And we kept the connectors simple. Real-World Tips for the Shop Floor
These high-intensity lamps put out a lot of heat. You’ve got to make sure your ventilation can actually handle it. If the air can’t move around the housing, the ends of the lamps will overheat and pop way sooner than they should. One more thing:**keep the tubes clean.**Grease and flour dust love to build up on the glass. That creates “hot spots” that can crack the quartz. A quick wipe-down saves you a lot of headache. When you’re wiring things up, double-check your PID controllers. IR hits its target almost instantly—it’s not like a slow-moving convection oven. If your controllers are tuned too slow, the temperature will overshoot, and you’ll end up with over-dried product again.
