The heater lamps are usually the first things to go, and they’re a massive drain on your maintenance budget. We make drop-in replacements that hit those OEM specs perfectly. You get the same bottle clarity and wall thickness, but without the eye-watering cost of the original parts.
The Deal with Shortwave Infrared
Here is how it actually works. These lamps use shortwave infrared, and we use high-purity quartz glass so the heat actually gets through to the plastic. Inside, the tungsten filament uses a halogen cycle. That’s just a fancy way of saying it stops the glass from turning black over time. It keeps the heat steady from one end of the tube to the other. If the voltage or wattage is even slightly off? You get “cold spots.” And that’s where the real trouble starts—pearlescence or, even worse, bottoms that burst the second they hit the blow cycle.
Fit and Finish
We build these to fit SBO and Krones systems exactly. No forcing things into place. Whether it’s R7s or Sk15 connectors, they snap in tight. That matters. A loose connection creates electrical arcs. Those arcs burn out your sockets and kill your lamps way faster than they should. We also keep a very close eye on the power draw so you aren’t overloading your transformers.
The Balancing Act
High-wattage lamps are great for fast ramp-up times on high-speed lines. But there’s a catch. When you push that much power through a short tube, you’re putting a lot of stress on the filament. You get the heat you need, but you’ll be swapping out lamps more often. To fix that, we optimized the coating. Instead of letting heat leak out into the oven walls, it reflects right back into the preform. It’s a simple tweak, but it means your cooling blowers don’t have to work nearly as hard to keep the machine stable.
