The Specs, Straight Talk
This thing runs at 2500W on 400V. That voltage choice keeps the current lower than a 230V setup, which means less voltage drop across a factory line and you don’t have to oversize the wiring. The tube is 300mm long, which focuses the heat into a tight spot. So you get a lot of watt-density without wrestling with a giant, cumbersome heater. It’s enough power to dry wet surfaces quickly, sure—but that also means the housing and airflow path around it have to be built to handle the heat. No shortcuts there.
What’s Inside, and Why It Matters
At the heart is a quartz halogen element. The halogen gas chemistry helps keep the filament temperature steady, so the output stays consistent over the life of the tube. And there’s a reflective coating on the outer envelope that bounces infrared energy forward. Less wasted heat. More usable heat where you want it. For the connection, it uses an R7s industrial connector. It locks in place, handles the thermal expansion of the quartz tube, and gives you a clean, serviceable point that’s easy to work with when maintenance day comes.
Real-World Use: Drying Shoes on the Line
In a shoe dryer setup, the whole point is fast evaporation with as few moving parts as possible. This heater comes on instantly with infrared heat, so the drying zone hits operating temperature right away.
