Introduction

So, we built this personal desk heater. The whole idea was simple: get intense warmth right where you need it—on your work surface—without turning your whole room into a sauna. It’s all centered around a compact halogen quartz lamp.

What’s Under the Hood

Here’s the thing—the specs are pretty straightforward. The lamp runs on 230V and pumps out between 250W and 300W. That power level is exactly what gives you that punchy heat in such a small package. You get warmth, and you get it fast, in a tight space. And the tube? We kept it short—just 150mm to 200mm. That way, the heater sits low on your desk and throws the heat forward, toward you, not up and away.
