Here is the problem when you swap out OEM lamps in a Sidel Matrix oven: the temperature curve tends to drift. If the wattage is off or the light spectrum isn’t exactly right, your preforms don’t heat evenly. That’s how you end up with those annoying thin walls or that cloudy, pearlescent look in your PET bottles. It’s a headache you just don’t need. That’s why we build our replacement lamps to mirror the original specs exactly. The science behind the match We do more than just check the length and voltage. That’s the easy part. We actually look at the filament density and the thickness of the quartz envelope to make sure the heat flux is a mirror image of the original. See, a lamp can be “close enough” in wattage but still have a different emission peak. We align the shortwave infrared (SWIR) output so the PET absorbs energy exactly how the Sidel system expects it to. It keeps your heating curves right where the factory intended. Fit and feel We use high-purity quartz and halogen gas fills so the filaments don’t just burn out on you. As for the installation? It’s a breeze. We use standard industrial connectors—think R7s or Sk15—so these are true drop-in replacements. You won’t be rewiring panels or messing around with lamp holders. They just fit. A quick reality check These IR lamps put out a massive amount of heat. Our tubes match the OEM output, but keep in mind that high wattage puts a real strain on your oven’s ventilation. If your cooling blowers are clogged or just worn out, the ambient heat will kill the lamps early, no matter who made them. Keep that airflow clear.
